ASHLEE SIMPSON AND PETE WENTZ ARE DONE!!
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz filed for divorce from rocker Pete Wentz! A statement said, “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.” Ashlee cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
The couple started dating in 2006. They married in 2008. Ashlee wants primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their 2-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz. She’s also requesting spousal and child support from Pete. Ashlee also wants her name changed back to Ashlee Nicole Simpson and is trying to make sure the court doesn’t give spousal support to Pete.
LOHAN CHARGED WITH FELONY GRAND THEFT/PLEADS NOT GUILTY!
Lindsay Lohan was officially charged yesterday with felony grand theft. She is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice Beach, CA jewelry store. She pled not guilty and was remanded into custody, but first Judge Keith Schwartz warned her, “you’re no different than anyone else…please don’t push your luck.” Lindsay’s bail was set at $20,000, but the judge also revoked her probation in her DUI case and set an additional bail on that matter at $20,000, so Lindsay had to post $40,000, which she did and was released. Lindsay was also warned by the judge that if she violated the law while awaiting trial she would be sent to jail and there would be no bail. Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley indicated that she and prosecutor Danette Meyers were going to meet and try to possibly work out a plea bargain. Finally Lindsay was also ordered not to contact the jewelry store, after Meyers said someone from the Lohan camp sent the owner flowers, which upset them. Lindsay’s next hearing is set for February 23rd. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in state prison.
LINDSAY’S PAST THEFTS WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT HER
Meanwhile, TMZ claims that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office believes they have a solid case against Lindsay Lohan because of her history of taking things. Sources say when the office was considering prosecuting Lindsay, they took into account three prior incidents where she took things that didn’t belong to her. In 2009, Lindsay was suspected of taking a $400,000 necklace from an Elle magazine shoot. In 2008, she stole a $12,000 mink coat from a New York City nightclub. And finally, last year she was accused of taking a $35,000 Rolex from a “friend.” Insiders say that if the case goes to trial, the D.A.’s office plans to ask a judge to admit the three incidents into evidence to show “prior bad acts.”
MILEY RESPONDS TO BONG SCANDAL
Miley Cyrus is speaking about her bong scandal in an interview in the new issue of Marie Claire – she admits it was a bad decision. The interviewer said a lot of young people have been experimenting with substances both legal and not, but the singer/actress replied: “They’re not Miley Cyrus. They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”
Miley also admits that the impending divorce of parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus has been rough, but she adds that the family is going to stay strong. Miley Cyrus denies she’s dating her So Undercover co-star Josh Bowman…even though she was snapped cuddling up to him in a park as he kissed her forehead. Miley tells E! News, “I’m dating nobody!” ”We’re at the park sitting together! We’re really good friends and he takes really good care of my dog.”
CHARLIE SHEEN TO PAY CREW?!
Charlie Sheen has told members of the Two and a Half Men crew that he will pay a portion of their salaries for the two weeks the show has been down – that is, if CBS and Warner Bros. agree to pay the remaining portion. Production of the show had to be shut down while the actor was getting rehab at his home.
Sources say Charlie is upset that Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre have not offered to pay the crew for the downtime, so he’s made an offer to pay one third of the crew salaries if Warner Bros. and CBS each pay a third as well. Sheen is said to be ready to return to the show next week, but sources say that production probably won’t start again until the end of the month.
WOMACK PROPOSED TO EX RIGHT BEFORE THE BACHELOR
Brad Womack is currently in the midst of his second run on The Bachelor, after famously rejecting both his final selections during his first go around. That was Season 11, when he decided he didn’t want either DeAnna or Jenni. But a real-life woman named Laurel Kagay tells Us Magazine that Brad proposed to her last summer “just weeks” before leaving to film the current season of The Bachelor. Obviously, she turned him down. And this wasn’t the first time she said no. Laurel says she has been dating Brad on-and-off for the past eight years, and he has asked her to marry him “countless” times.
Laurel says she decided to make this public because “I’m sure the girl he picked would want to know that he was proposing to another woman right before he started taping the show. I would want to know.” And he does pick a woman this time…we think. Earlier this season, Brad told E! Online that he found a keeper this time. ”When I say I’m in love, I mean it with every bone in my body. I am happier than I’ve been in 10, 15 years. Not a single regret. I’m very much in love.” He added that the chances are “damn good” that he’ll be married next year at this time. Let’s hope he’s referring to love with one of the remaining Bachelor chicks, and not relying on a Hail Mary “yes” from Laurel.
TED WILLIAMS SAYS THE PRESSURE GOT TO HIM
The Ohio homeless man who became a viral sensation thanks to his golden voice admits that he had a hard time dealing with his sudden rise to fame. “It was too much, too fast and I was just not really focused on what I should be doing,” Ted Williams told the CBS Early Show. Not long after being discovered Williams began drinking again, he says because of the immense pressure he was dealing with. “The weight of the world was on my shoulders,” he said, adding that people would come up to him at airports saying, “Hey Ted, don’t let us down.” Williams eventually went to a Texas rehab, but didn’t stay long. He said, “It felt scripted. I was doing live phone-ins (to TV shows) from rehab.” He is now staying at a sober house in California and is looking for voiceover work, explaining that some of his initial job offers have now disappeared. But Ted is still hopeful he’ll get a new gig. He said, “some of these offers have come back to the table under the provision that I do continue to live in a sober environment.”
FOOTAGE OF SHIA FIGHT TO BE RELEASED?!
The public may soon get to see exactly what happened when Shia LaBeouf got into an altercation at an L.A. bar. Richard Disisto, owner of Mad Bull’s Tavern in Sherman Oaks, CA, where the fight took place Friday, tells the New York Post that he’s thinking about releasing surveillance footage of the incident. Disisto says he wants to show the tapes to end the rumors that his staff failed to stop the fight. “We have the entire thing on tape. I have been offered a lot of money for the footage,” he said. “I am concerned about the integrity of the bar, and if we are further criticized, I will release the tape to show we did all we could to stop the fight.”
NO CONTACT ORDER LIFTED FOR TEEN MOM COUPLE
A judge in Indiana yesterday lifted a no contact ordered that banned Teen Mom couple Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley from being anywhere near each other. The former pair is now allowed to talk and hang out together, although the judge refused to allow them to be around their daughter Leah at the same time. The trio can only be together while handing off custody of the child. Amber is still facing two felony counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent, and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery for her attack on Gary.
KIM GOT FAT IN NEW YORK
Kim Kardashian says her recent stay in New York wreaked havoc on her waistline. “I gained like ten pounds,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. Kim says she didn’t have much time to work out while in the Big Apple, and added, “I ate the nuts on the street corner, the hot dogs, the street meat. It was no joke.” But Kim is now working hard to get back into shape. “I’m on a diet,” she says. “I’m the first to say I have to work out extra hard and it’s such a struggle for me to eat healthy.”

Khloe Kardashian knows she’s the least famous Kardashian sister, and she’s not really happy about it. “I’m the ugly sister. I’m the fat one. Jennifer Aniston tells People that the public’s biggest misconception about her is, “that I’m unhappy.” Says Jen, “I’m really happy. Really.” Jen can’t understand why the press, and her fans, seem to be constantly worried about her future – whether she’ll find love again, or ever have a baby – things Jen doesn’t seem too worried about. “I think people honestly just want to see me as a mom and married and barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen,” she says. “And I just want to say, ‘everybody relax! Is there trouble in paradise for Russell Brand and Katy Perry. Life & Style magazine reports that the pair, who married three months ago, is already having problems and is looking into couple’s therapy. It seems that the duo’s busy work schedules are causing problems, with Russell filming Arthur in Los Angeles and New York, and Katy performing all over the world. But sources say the newlyweds aren’t ready to give up on their union just yet. An insider claims that in January, Katy, “started asking friends to recommend a marriage counselor.”

Dirty Dancing has been voted England’s favorite chick flick in a poll conducted by the charity organization OxFam, in connection with the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. Coming in at number two was Bridget Jones’ Diary, followed by Pretty Woman and Sex and the City, which tied for third, and Love Actually in fifth.
COLBERT HITS THE NEW YORK STAGE
Funnyman Stephen Colbert will join Neil Patrick Harris, Martha Plimpton, Patti LuPone and Anika Noni Rose in the New York Philharmonic production of the Stephen Sondheim musical Company. The Colbert Report star will play Harry in the musical, which will run from April 7th to 9th at Avery Fisher Hall.

● Ray’s Kerry Washington will star in a new ABC drama pilot from Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes. The series, titled In Crisis, will be based on famous crisis management consultant Judy Smith, who worked with such public figures as Monica Lewinsky and Michael Vick. Washington will play professional fixer Olivia Price, described as a formidable and fearless woman. Stomp The Yard’s Columbus Short has already been cast in the project, playing a lawyer on Price’s team.
● Norm MacDonald is returning to TV. The former Saturday Night Live funnyman will headline Sports Show with Norm MacDonald for Comedy Central. The network announced yesterday that they have picked up eight episodes the show, which features MacDonald’s unique and comedic take on stories from the sports world. Sports Show will premiere in April.
● TVLine reports that Audra McDonald is leaving Private Practice at the end of the season. The actress is departing the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff in order to spend more time with her family in New York. The site reports that McDonald won’t be completely gone. She is expected to reprise her character of Naomi in guest appearances.
